Tunstall launches cross-sector partnership programme to strengthen connected care

Technology-enabled care provider Tunstall Healthcare has launched what it describes as an industry-first partnership programme aimed at bringing together organisations from across health, housing and social care to improve collaboration and deliver more joined-up support for people receiving care.

The initiative has been created in response to growing pressure on health and social care services, with Tunstall arguing that no single organisation can address the sector’s challenges in isolation. Instead, the programme will provide a platform for care providers, local authorities, housing organisations, NHS bodies and technology partners to share best practice and develop practical solutions that improve outcomes for service users.

The programme reflects the increasing importance of integrated care models, preventative services and technology-enabled support as providers look to improve resident wellbeing while easing pressure on stretched health and care systems.

The partnership has been informed by Tunstall’s involvement in a series of cross-sector discussions led by Public Policy Projects (PPP), which explored how preventative approaches and stronger collaboration can help reshape future care delivery. Insights from those discussions will contribute to a forthcoming PPP report examining the future of integrated support services.

Mark Hindle (pictured), Managing Director of Tunstall UK, said: “Technology-enabled care should never be about technology for technology’s sake. It should be about people, helping individuals live independently, safely and with dignity.

“The challenges facing health, housing and social care are interconnected, so the solutions must be too. Through this partnership programme, we’re creating a space where organisations can come together, share expertise and focus on delivering better outcomes for the people who rely on our services every day.”

Alongside the new programme, Tunstall has also been working with techUK on a five-point action plan designed to improve collaboration across the care ecosystem. The recommendations focus on strengthening partnerships between Government, local authorities, the NHS, housing providers and technology suppliers while encouraging wider adoption of preventative, technology-enabled care.

Angus Honeysett, Market Development Director at Tunstall and Chair of techUK’s Social Care Working Group, said discussions across the sector consistently highlighted the need for greater alignment around the people receiving care rather than organisational boundaries.

As integrated care continues to evolve, initiatives such as Tunstall’s partnership programme demonstrate how closer collaboration and shared expertise could help care providers improve resident outcomes, support independent living and build more resilient care services for the future.
