Maria Mallaband Care Group, which has more than 80 care homes across the UK, has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Creggan Bahn Court in Ayr, on Scotland’s south-west coast.

This home, which dates back to the 1870s, has provided nursing and residential care for the Ayr community since 1997, building a reputation for excellence during those 25 years.

Creggan Bahn is led by Nurse Manager Samantha Baxter-Hendren, who has worked at the home for a total of eight years in the past 15, having taken seven years out to work for the NHS, before returning to the home as manager almost three years ago.

Located within a mile of Ayr Town Centre and a short stroll from Ayr Beach Promenade, Creggan Bahn is well-regarded within the care sector and the local community for providing high quality care in a luxurious and well-appointed environment.

A previous winner of the Scottish Care Home of the Year in 2015 and finalist in Caring UK Awards 2018, the home has consistently achieved the highest grades from the Care Inspectorate and is ranked amongst the top care homes in Scotland.

This spacious and luxurious 58-bed building has retained many original features, including generous bay windows and high ceilings. It has large en-suite bedrooms, many on the ground floor opening onto the landscaped gardens and terraces, and there are several with specially adapted bathrooms equipped with hydrotherapy baths.

Those living in the home can enjoy several expansive lounges over the two floors, along with a dining room, hair salon and the Garden Room Café, an ideal place to enjoy time with visitors. The generous private gardens include a putting green, raised flower beds and a vegetable plot.
