  • INDUSTRY SPOTLIGHT: Sekoia Digital Care Planning

Digital care planning provides care delivery with access to all the information needed, right where needed. The result is enhanced care, fewer incidents and greater job satisfaction. If you ask the care homes using Sekoia.

Here care staff are gaining an overview of their day, by recording health data, sharing information and reporting observations digitally.

A proven audit trail: From “requires improvement” to “good”

The inspection procedures demand an eligible audit trail. Any provider working to document care delivery will know this. With digital a new kind of tagging now helps providers better evidence when and where care is being delivered. And by whom.

At Orton Manor Nursing Home in the West Midlands, Sekoia provides an overview of staffs’ to-do list enabling an improved management information, which their latest inspection report fully recognises:

“People’s care records were written in a way which helped staff to deliver personalised care and gave staff information about people’s communication needs, their likes, dislikes and preferences”.

This movement leaves more time for the individual resident, as staff can now spend less time on their paperwork.

More than 1 hour per carer per shift

For Bill, Kate and the rest of the staff at Quinton House “going digital” has helped overcome a massive paperwork burden, representing up to 1,5 hours per carer per shift. This is now cleared during the day, alongside delivering care.

“You know where to access the ‘paperwork’ you don’t have to go to different places to find them and everything is clear, everything is legible so information sharing is a lot better and there’s an audit trail. Everything is time-stamped, so everything is clear on when it’s done so it gives the staff, and myself especially, a more definite target on what to do throughout the day,” Kate Pascual concludes.
