  • Guidance for adult social care partners published…

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published a good practice guide which aims to provide practical advice and help reduce the impact on people, and their families and carers, in the event of a care home closure.

In partnership with NHS England (NHSE), the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS), the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Care Provider Alliance (CPA), the guide clearly demonstrates how national and local organisations should closely work together to avoid duplication, coordinate action, and ‘prevent confusion’ for all parties involved.

The guide was created as a result of an event co-hosted by the CQC and NHSE earlier this year, and it was agreed that the current system would benefit from a set of ‘essential principles’.
