Exemplar Health Care has begun construction on its new 20-bed care home in Ellesmere Port, which will open in spring 2022.
Cheshire Springs will be Exemplar Health Care’s first home in Cheshire West and Chester, where it will support 20 adults who are living with a range of complex needs including neuro-disabilities, complex mental health needs and physical disabilities.
The home will also be surrounded by an easy-access sensory garden and include a communal hub, living and dining spaces for residents and their friends and family to socialise.
In addition to providing a supportive community-based service for residents living at Cheshire Springs, around 100 jobs are expected to be created in the next few months, ahead of the expected opening in spring 2022. Recruitment has begun for those looking roles as nurses, health care assistants and support staff capacity.
Charlotte Lloyd, Commissioning Director at Exemplar Health Care, said: “We’re pleased to begin construction on our brand-new Cheshire Springs care home.
“Our market intelligence shows that people in Cheshire, who have these complex conditions, are living in inappropriate hospital settings, often for over two years and far away from home. Due to the shortage of high-quality specialist nursing homes in the area, the opening of Cheshire Springs will enable us to provide this vital care, close to home.
“As well as providing employment opportunities, there are plans in place to help Cheshire Springs become part of the local community. We are working hard to keep nearby schools, residents, and businesses, updated with the work planned on site. We’re really looking forward to ingratiating ourselves into the local community.
“We welcome any queries that local residents have around our new home – and look forward to being officially part of the community.”
