Care provider celebrates 15 years of workforce development with 1,000 care workers trained

Czajka Care Group is marking the 15th anniversary of its dedicated training centre in Shipley, having now trained more than 1,000 care workers through programmes designed to support workforce development across the social care sector.

The Nab Wood-based facility, which opened in 2011, was originally established to strengthen internal training and ensure consistent standards across the organisation’s care services. Since then, it has evolved into a regional training hub, supporting care homes, community care providers and NHS teams throughout Yorkshire and beyond.

The milestone highlights the growing importance of structured training and professional development in supporting recruitment, retention and regulatory compliance.

Over the past 15 years, the centre has delivered a broad range of accredited and specialist courses covering manual handling, safeguarding, infection control, first aid, health and safety, communication skills and end-of-life care. It also provides a four-day induction programme aligned with national care standards to help new entrants build the skills and confidence needed to succeed in care roles.

Czajka Care Group, which operates three care and nursing homes, two retirement living communities and The Clubhouse leisure facility, says demand for training has increased steadily as providers seek practical, high-quality learning opportunities to support increasingly complex care environments.

Konrad Czajka, Managing Director of Czajka Care Group, said: “Our training centre was originally created to support internal workforce development but quickly evolved into a regional resource. When we launched the training centre 15 years ago, the focus was on ensuring our own teams received the highest possible standard of training. It has since developed to support care providers across the region.

“The fact that more than 1,000 care workers have now passed through our programmes reflects both the scale of demand and the ongoing need for high-quality, practical training in the sector.”

The training centre is staffed by experienced care professionals and offers both on-site training and courses delivered across the group’s Nab Wood care homes. External bookings now form a significant part of its activity, reflecting wider demand for accredited workforce development across health and social care.

Looking ahead, Czajka Care Group plans to continue investing in its training provision to meet evolving regulatory requirements and sector workforce needs. The organisation says future development will focus on practical skills, accredited learning pathways and supporting the next generation of care professionals as providers continue to address recruitment and retention challenges across the sector.
