  • Care home room rates hitting more than £30K, new report suggests…

    Research from the care provider, Prestige Nursing and Care, has further highlighted the financial pressure on older people and their families regarding the increased costs of social care; with the average rate of a room calculated at more than £30,000 a year and the rise amounting to 5.2 per cent higher than the same study last year.

    Managing director of Prestige Nursing and Care, Jonathan Bruce, commented on the analysis: “It is particularly alarming that care home costs have risen almost 10 times as much as pensioner incomes in real terms, with the result that older people will find the challenge of paying for care even more out of their reach.”
