  • £10m luxury care home in Aylesbury on course for autumn completion

Chartwell Manor, a purpose-built 61 ensuite-bedroom care home, will provide five-star accommodation and facilities and person-centred nursing, residential and dementia care.

The new home will be operated by Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG), one of the largest independent care home providers in the UK with more than 80 homes across the country.

Building work is on schedule to complete the home in Nimrod Street by autumn this year, bringing what’s termed as ‘much-needed’ care capacity to the heart of the community.

The two-storey building will be set within landscaped gardens, including private patio areas for ground floor rooms. The interior-designed environment will be tailored to the needs of the individuals living there, with spacious modern facilities comprising elegant lounges and restaurants, including a sleek bar and bistro, serving a menu of freshly cooked dishes prepared with local seasonal produce. An on-site concierge will be part of the package of 24-hour personalised support on offer.

Paul Walsh, Chief Operating Officer (South) at Maria Mallaband Care Group, said: “With Chartwell Manor we want to deliver everything those living there need and deserve – from luxury interiors and chef-created menus to dedicated compassionate care, and fantastic lifestyle activities that support their health and wellbeing.

“With our incredible More… Lifestyle programme we take our holistic, bespoke approach even further – providing a rich offer of activities and opportunities designed around each individual to be truly reflective of their interests and passions.

“This is not only about creating the very best physical environment but creating a community where each person can live life to the fullest; a place where individuality is celebrated.”

MMCG last year committed to investing more than £80m to develop nine new homes, as part of an ongoing build programme over the next three years. The development of Chartwell Manor follows the highly successful launch earlier this year of £9.5million Lace Hill Manor care home in Buckingham.

As well as responding to the need for social care within the community, the new home will also create dozens of new jobs for carers, qualified nurses, chefs and administrators and other professions.
