National Care Association (NCA) chairman Nadra Ahmed made an appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain show last week, discussing research from the show that indicated people who self-fund their stay at a care home are paying up to 40% more for the service, compared to those funded by their local authority (see graphic, below).
It’s certainly a hot topic, and one that will no doubt be discussed further at the Care Forum, where Nadra will be hosting a seminar session looking at the current challenges faced by the sector, and the NCA’s vision for a future where the need for social care will increase.
